Always Hungry.
Here’s some food for thought: I am a Los Angeles native devoted to discovering an interdisciplinary approach to technology, social impact, and entertainment. After bursting the bubble of Agoura Hills, I moved to the vibrant college-town of Ann Arbor, where I recently completed two bachelor’s degrees in Business and Information Science at the University of Michigan. As I move to my next course, I will continue to quench my thirst for knowledge and strive to find new ways of making connections in my work and extracurriculars.
The Past.
My first bite at understanding my abilities was when I had to overcome my disability. I was diagnosed with Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD), a condition where my brain could not make sense of what my ears heard, and as a result, everything sounded the same to me. Consequently, I was put into a special needs program and intensive speech therapy throughout elementary school. But despite my hearing problems, I learned the value of perseverance. Once I made my full recovery, I dedicated myself to projecting my voice and helping others find their own.
While I was admitted to the Ross School of Business, I discovered the value of technology and design through other classes. I sparked interest in how digital technologies affect our social, cultural, and political lives and how compelling interactive systems give rise to social computing and better user experiences. In 2019, I interned at Comcast NBCUniversal, where I led and managed 132 software use cases for a revised data plan for Xfinity Mobile. In 2020, I built an internal product for Amazon that directed HRBPs to appropriate resources through the employee lifecycle. Through my technology and design classwork and internships, I became fascinated by the B.S. in Information and I set my mind to attempt two bachelor’s degrees. After graduation, I moved to the Bay Area to join SAP’s Next Talent Program as a User Experience Designer.
The Present.
As my intellectual appetite keeps growing, I am becoming aware of how much more I still have left to learn. While it may be early for me to create a personal website and display some of my work, I believe it’s never too early to do something you love. I’ll probably look back five years from now and realize how embarrassing my design/product work was, but I’ll never regret that I started at a young age.
The Future.
All this talk about food is making me hungry. Help fuel my appetite here and maybe I can learn from you!
